Bible Preaching
We believe that the Word of God has the answers to all of life’s problems. It reveals God’s will for the individual, His design for the family, His mandate to the nation, and His blueprint for our church. The Bible is the Textbook for all we do at South Valley Baptist Church.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School is age appropriate and is tailored to help every age group grow in their knowledge of God’s Word. Our desire is to have teachers who are enthusiastic in the classroom and proactive in the lives of their students.
World Missions
Reaching the lost is our great commission. Our church supports both foreign and home missionaries on a monthly basis. A church that is not actively involved in evangelizing the world with the gospel of Christ has internalized and has lost its purpose. As a lighthouse of the gospel, we intend to shine our light, not just here at home, but around the world. We also go door-to-door in an effort to reach our own community with the truth of God‘s love. Together we can do much!
Short-term Missions Trips
Along with our prayers and financial support, one of the ways that we as a church can experience missions is through hands-on involvement. There is nothing quite as moving as visiting a mission field and working with the people first hand. It is truly life changing, and something that we definitely want to be involved in.
The King’s Daughters
This is our ladies fellowship that ministers to the unique needs of women, and offers them an avenue of serving others. Susie Herring, our pastor’s wife, has been used as a speaker at women’s conferences across our nation. She is gifted in applying the principles of God’s Word to every day life.
The Mighty Men
The men’s fellowship of South Valley Baptist Church helps develop Biblical leadership and encourages men to prioritize their lives according to God’s Word. The importance of being a spiritual husband and father has never been more important than in this day of the dysfunctional family.
Home Builders
Have you ever wondered “What ever happened to love after marriage?” In a very busy and demanding world, many couples find themselves with no time for each other. Some marriages have been in “survival mode” for quite some time. Through annual retreats and date nights, we want to help build the togetherness that is vital to the health of every marriage.
Teen Impact!
The teenage years are crucial years. They can be the most productive years, or the most destructive, of a person’s life. Our Youth Pastor, Chad Adams, and his wife Georgia, provide our teenagers with instruction and activities in an atmosphere that is conducive to spiritual growth. It is our conviction that you can have fun without engaging in sinful activities or compromising Biblical principles. We are training the next generation of leaders at South Valley Baptist Church!
Children’s Church
During this exciting time on Sunday morning, the Word of God is taught on a level where children can grasp it. Through the use of visual aides and our wonderful puppet ministry, the truths of the Bible come to life. Your children will not only love coming to church, they will learn while they are here.
Deaf Ministry
Those in the deaf community are often over-looked and, therefore, feel unloved by the churches that surround them. Our desire is to bring God’s love into their world of silence, and to let them know that we care. Our church services are interpreted for the deaf, and classes will be offered for those wanting to learn sign language.
Bible History Tours
Talk about life-changing! The Bible comes to life as you walk where Jesus walked. Our pastor has led numerous tours into the Holy Land, along with Jordan, Rome, and England. During these tours, we study the Bible, not just from a historical perspective, but from a prophetic one as well. We have a trip planned to Israel in the spring 0f 2011!
